Spent a fun few days in Easton Maryland, painting sites
around town and surrounding areas and participating in
the Quick Draw event on Saturday. This event is when
artists have 2 hours to complete a painting in a designated
area, to display for competition and sale. Very exciting and
many beautiful paintings were created.

July 2015 was an unusually green month in Virginia, with lots of rain to promote the growth of grasses and crops. Looking off into the south west, is a fabulous view of the Little North Mountain range,
here painting with my best painting buddy.

One of my favorite places to be, in any weather is Lexington, Virginia.
A historic town and home to two colleges, Virginia Military Institute and
Washington and Lee University, it that has kept its small town look and attitude, despite the growth in surrounding areas. The Maury River is
always a scenic spot in any season. The winter of 2015 gave us cold weather and beautiful snow and I'm happy to have had the chance to get out on location to enjoy it.

Autumn in Virginia is a kaleidoscope of color. Those brilliant yellows,
oranges and reds reflected in water is a scene can really make one stop
and ponder the wonders of nature. This is Goshen Pass, the location just
up river from a section that is frequented by kayakers when the water is up.
A go-to place for me when I want to paint something that has a bit
of wild and rugged in it.

A curious bunch, ready for their portraits to be painted.
I never know what I will encounter out on location!

September 2014. For a second year in a row I have been fortunate to
visit Jackson Hole, Wyoming to be able to paint in Teton National Park.
I travel with a very good friend of mine who is an amazing artist herself.
This trip we timed it just right to see the aspens and cottonwood trees
turn their glorious golden fall color. We painted all day, literally from
sunrise to sunset, and came home with two dozen paintings! Some
studies and others ready for a frame. A very productive week.
